OUR BEGINNINGS...

In the Spring of 2008, after 20+ years of sending our graduating Webelos to other Boy Scout Troops. to continue their scouting journey, a group of parents, and Council felt that Bensalem Township could support another Boy Scout Troop, one that would fit their thoughts and expectations and follow a program more suited to their idea of Scouting. In August of that same year, Troop 301 was granted a 16 month charter and was sponsored by Belmont Hills Elementary Schools PTG, the same organization that sponsors the Cub Scouting Program of Pack 301. Starting with 3 young men, 3 committee members, a Scoutmaster, two Assistant Scoutmasters, and a lot of enthusiasm, the adventure began.

Not long after, many Cub Pack 301 scouters and scouts from other packs who advanced into Boy Scouting programs, but weren't happy with the programs they were involved with, asked to come back and join into a troop that focuses on the boys learning, laughing and having fun, without drama and distractions from the adult leadership, that just works to disrupt.

Now in 2011, Boy Scout Troop 301 has outgrown its meeting space at Belmont Elementary and have moved into their new home... Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. located at 3900 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa. The space will enable the troop to grow, participate in the community and foster the ideas and values that the Boy Scouts of America seek to introduce to the young men of today.

Weekly Monday night meetings...monthly trips, hikes, rafting, camping...community service projects and all the fun that a person can handle!

Our Scout Troop maintains an excellent retention rate with rank advancement and as the years go on...we will see the active number of Boy Scouts in Troop 301 grow, as boys advance from Pack 301 and other cub scouting programs. As mentioned before...we "welcome back" any boy and his scouting family that advanced into another troop, but didn't stay with that program for whatever reason. You are always welcome to come and rejoin with Boy Scout Troop 301. The Troop will experience several different levels of fun and learning as they work their way through the Boy Scouting program on the road to Eagle Scout.
